Hi,
I can start by saying 2.50-2.99 is extremely had to find. Forget about 2.80-2.99.
Three's are also not easy to find.

In terms of price- what shape, color and clarity are you considering?

Multiple factors are going to influence the price. Some of these factors as follows:

Shape - round vs. fancy shape

Cut quality (i.e., proportions, symmetry, polish and how this may impact the performance of the stone)

Carat weight - a 2.5 ct stone will be considerably less per carat than a 3.0 ct stone

Color

Clarity

Grading Laboratory and Certification

In addition to all of this some vendors may offer packages and policies that might slightly contribute to the price. This would include things like additional reports (BrillianceScope, images, Sarin or OGI), viewer or loupe, free shipping, etc. You might also take into consideration some added value in a generous money back guarantee period or lifetime upgrade policy.

The bottom line is that prices are not fixed based solely on size, color and clarity. When comparing prices make sure that you are comparing apples to apples.
