I'm in need of some quick help...

If I'm picking up a 1/2 carat simple diamond pendant set in white gold, what is the best size match in a diamond stud earring (in total carat weight)?? I'm really struggling with this - I want to get something that makes a beautiful set - but I don't want the earrings to overwhelm the pendant or take much attention away from it.

While I'm at it, I should probably also ask what the right size diamond stud earring is for a 1 carat pendant.

Please reply as soon as possible - our local jeweler is awaiting our decision.
