Considering a stone that I think looks very nice and a good size (especially given my girlfriend's petite and her finger is a size 4).

GIA Certificate:
Round Brilliant
Measurements: 8.19 - 8.24 x 4.95 mm
Weight: 2.03 carat

Proportions:
Depth: 60.3%
Table: 60%
Girdle: Very thin to medium, faceted
Culet: None

Finish:
Polish: Very good
Symmetry: Very good

Clarity: SI1
Color: G
Fluorencence: none

The feathers inclusions are on the periphery of the stone, only two pinpoints anywhere near the center.

What's a fair price for this in NYC? (The jeweler sold two of my friends' rings and I think they look fantastic. I'm planning to have it set in a Tiffany-style four prong with tapered bagettes (total wt. .40 carats).

Thanks!
David

2.00 ct. diamonds have been raising in prices pretty steadily for the past few weeks. I looked up an available stone in the same color, clarity and weight and it was going for about $21,000 range.

Since the dealer's priced me $18,200 for the stone, I'm getting a good deal!

Thanks, Jan! You've given me a nice relief!
