BlueNile is a fine outfit.

Not all of the stones that they sell are excellent but then not everyone is looking for the same thing. The best stones tend to be more expensive after all. They also usually don't know very much about them and they are relying on their suppliers to give accurate and useful information and this can sometimes turn out to be a problem. A scan of the lab report is useful for what it is but this does not tell the whole story.

Arrange to get the stone appraised by an independent appraiser after you get it and during your inspection period. They are very reasonable about accepting returns if you decide you're unhappy but it's important to be timely about it.

Blue Nile is a public company. This makes them extra liable to the scrutiny of public shareholders.
