Does flourescence matter in a D-F colored stone? Will it significantly affect the beauty or value of the diamond? Should I avoid it at all costs or is it not that big of a deal?

By definition, the answer to your question is "no". :)

The concensus seems to be that none all the way to medium fluorescence is ok and in some cases some people like fluorescence. There are a few other threads on this forum that have dealt with the fluorescence question ad-nauseum.

If you've found a stone you like in all respects and are concerned about a little fluorescence, stop right there you've found your diamond!

Carefully read this scientific study done by GIA scientists back in 1997.

http://www.gia.edu/p...7_fluoresce.pdf

It is the definitive statement on fluorescence. In less than 1% of all polished diamonds is fluorescence a negative factor.

You have nothing to be concerned about.

Not a big deal unless it were extremely strong and caused a greasy, oily or milky effect.

Or unless you spend a lot of time in nightclubs under black light. If it has some fluorescence, you'll see it. It's about the only time you'll see it.
