Each diamond certified? That would be overkill. It would not hurt to look at it under a 10x's jeweler loupe. Make sure they back up what they sell you in writing and ask them to write the quality down on the actual sales receipt and provide you with a free appraisal.

"PAVE" is a term used to describe how the small surrounding diamonds are set - coming from the french word meaning "to pave", not a type of diamond itself, so you won't need a certification on each of the small stones (not to mention that would cost an incredible amount on money!).

that's what i was wondering. i thought it would be overkill. but i didn't know how to make sure all the diamonds were good quality. there's not going to be a center stone in this ring to certify.
what quality of diamonds should i be looking for in this type of ring?
thnx

VS G-H color would be nice. When you look under the microscope at the stones, you won't see large inclusions. They should be relatively clean, and white. If well cut they will sparkle nicely too. You'll be able to check out the prong work too while under the scope.
