Hi All,

Can someone please help me? I have 2 diamonds, the first one is 0.94 carats color-H, Clarity SI2, Dimension - 6.55-6.7 x 3.58 mm. The second one is 0.96 carats, Color - GH, Clarity SI1, Dimensions 6.25 - 6.3 x 3.7mm.

I know they are not the top of the line diamonds, but I am quite happy with those 2 strones. Can someone please let me know which stone is better? The really big differences between the 2 is the cut. Also, what price would these diamonds typically sell for? Thanks :D

Steve

The first diamond (0.94) is way too shallow. From what I can see, it’s around a 54 depth. This will give it a "fish eye" effect. Ever see a fish in the market looking at you? That's the way the diamond will look. It may look ok when it’s clean but wait till you get a little dirt from everyday use on it.

The other sounds a bit better by the measurements but a G-H? It will not be certified so you are taking your chances. Who’s to say it's not H-I, I-J? There really is not enough info here to make a decision but I would recommend that you only look at GIA certified diamond.

Good Luck.

You should have an independent appraiser to look at your stones. You didn't say if they had a lab report or not. Someone that *sees* the stones could give you more accurate info than the limited info you provided.
