I have a quote on the following. Let me know if this is about right and what you think on the diamond specifics:
Princess Cut
1.20ct
GIA Cert.
Table - 64%
Girdle - Med. to Thick
Depth - 85.2% (is this too much?)
Polsh - Very Good
Symmetry - Good
$5800
Platinum Setting w/ 1/3ct Bags - $700
What are anyones thoughts? I have a budget of $7k
Thanks

Hiya,
You'll need to add the two essential details for checking on price...colour and clarity. If you could post those up I'm sure someone will let you know how good that is price-wise.....
thanks

It's way too deep but the price is ok for the type of cut. If you look for one that has a better cut and closer to the 1.00 carat mark it will measure about the same. That stone has way too much weight in the depth.

That one would be like buying a steak with an extra 15% fat on it.
It also looks to be out of square which is another way that the cutter was able to save weight. We have some great examples on our site of what a really nice princess cut diamond looks like. Feel free to browse.
