Hi,
I've been shopping for engagement rings and found a local wholesaler offering the following:
EGL Certified
1.62
VS1
G
D: 57.9
T: 65
P&S: VG/VG
mounted in 14k white gold
Px: 8700
I think the diamond is really beautiful, but I'm very concerned about the depth and especially the table. I also hear that I should look for a GIA certified diamond.
I don't know much about diamonds, but I've been told that the cut is average at best and there's been controversy over EGL grading.
Am I overpaying?
Thanks for your help!
Good Buy?

Btw, it's a round diamond with slight flourescense.
Thanks!

The depth % tells us that the stone is Flat, including a spready table (65%), The stone might be a "fish eye".
I would have gone with a stone that has better measurments, and maybe a lower quality like VS2, in order to have more brilliancy .
go on the web and check out different sites to see similar stones here is a link.
