Does anyone have experience, positive or negative, with the durability of eternity-style bands and/or pave mounts that they'd be good enough to share?

My fiance and I would like to get rings which last us forever without maintenance, yet she really likes the pave/eternity style.

In particular, when you look at this set:
http://www.tacori.com/collections/mermaid/mermaid_e.html
do you see a lifetime-durable ring set or a maintenance nightmare.

Thanks in advance for any and all feedback!

We're an authorized Tacori dealer so we've had a little experience with the way they stand behind their product, Tacori is an excellent company with a well made product. The one recommendation that we make to our customers is to order the rings in the version which has the diamonds going only 3/4 of the way around the rings so that there is metal on the bottom of the rings instead of diamonds because otherwise they can not be sized without disturbing the pattern of the diamonds... The odds are that her ring size will change over time, so it is a really good idea! Tacori offers their line in full versions which go all the way around; 3/4 versions which leave the bottom quarter of the ring open for sizeing; and 1/2 versions which only have diamonds going across the top of the finger. Prices vary accordingly. One thing to keep in mind, any work on Tacori rings should be done by Tacori themselves since they know exactly how the rings are assembled and the best way to size and repair anything that may require repair over time...

Thanks. That's a useful tip. My base question was on the durability of these intricate types of rings though. Does your company provide a repair and maintenance service for the rings that you sell (from which I presume you'd have some emperical data on how much/little maintenance these types of rings require as compared to a simple solitaire with a solid platinum band). Or do you know where I could look to find some statistics on this?

The last thing I want to do is get my future spouse something that's going to require adjustments, maintenance, replaced stones/settings, etc. over time.

Thanks in advance.
