Hey! Has anyone ever seen an asterik on the inside of their engagement ring? It does not have the carats marked either on the inside of the band. Does this ring seem real or not?
Real diamond or not!

You mean a * mark? Yes, it is the registered "hallmark" for Stuller Settings of Louisiana http://www.stuller.com
By law all manufacturers and jewelers who stamp a jewelry item with a carat stamp such as 14k, 18k, Plat, 900, 950 etc. which indicates the alloy type and content of the piece must also identify themselves with a registered hallmark which looks very much like a brand mark that would be branded on livestock. The hallmark is not required if the alloy type for the jewelry item is not stamped on the piece. Refer to the article "All that glitters" http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/products/jewelry.htm published by the Federal Trade Commission for additional information pertaining to this subject.
