i'm getting marry in july of 2004. my fiance and i found the ring we both like. it's the tension setting. couple of the jewlers says the tension setting is not very secure on the diamond. the place where we found the tension setting, the jewler said it holds 98% of it's weight and the company that made these special setting never had any diamonds fall off before. is it true? what do you think of the tension setting.
i'm thinking of putting a .37 caret G color VSI diamond in it.

thanks
meg

Tension settings can be beautiful and secure. If you like the setting, go for it. As with any other setting or jewelry item, keep it insured and have piece of mind either way.

i would not recommend putting it in a tension setting, they are not safe ,if you hit the ring in a certain way it might fall off.

The same applies for any piece of Jewelry if you hit it a certain way. What way were you thinking? Jewelry is to be worn and is as unique as each individual. Keep it insured and have piece of mind!

If you were to hit it against a hard surface when you wear it it's more likely to pop out then the traditional four or six prong setting
