Ideal makes are the stones that are withing these criterias:
d=59-61.5
t=53-57
girdle- thin-med
polish ideal
symm ideal
preferably no flour-faint
these are stones that disperce the most brilliancy through the stone,thus making the stone "firey".
Now,there are some pretty decent makes that come close to these measurements without paying a premium for them.
those would be stones that are graded with simlilar specs. and are graded as ex.ex(poilish & symm)
Your best bet is to search the web ,find the stone you want and then ahve us vendors explain to you the good and bad points of that stone.
good luck
