I just got my engagement ring two days ago, and it was way too big, so we went back to the Jeweler yesterday to get it sized smaller. She tried a 4 1/2 on, and said that it looked good, so she wrote it down, then she thought it was too big, so she just crossed out the 1/2... I tried on the 4, and I thought it felt a little too tight. She just said that I don't want it to be too loose, and was going to just take it... I told her that I didn't want it too leave indentions, and she said why should it matter if I'm never going to take it off. I told her that I don't like to wear anything tight against my skin, so she said how about a 4 1/4 then... and just wrote it down. I figured in between the two should fit ok.... but it just feels too tight, and is leaving indentations on my finger. Of course I don't want it to be too loose that it's going to fall off, but what is considered too small??? I want to leave room for a band too, so if you move it up a little, you can see how it squeezes in the flesh... What is the proper fit for an engagement ring? Should there be a little room to grow? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks.

It really is up to your individual taste. Some like them to fit looser and others like them real tight. You should get it to fit the way that you like it. :)
