A proposal is a question that should be asked only when the answer can be confidently predicted.

If you "know" the answer then the girl would say you have waited too long.

I'd actually say that most people "know" the answer ahead of time either by their girlfriend directly hinting at it (or talking about it directly) or they've been with her long enough to know that she'd say yes. I run a site on proposals at www.beforeproposing.com, and have dealt with tons of people on this and usually they all know that their girlfriend sees it coming.

I don't think that you should usually ask ahead of time if you think the answer might be "no," as that means that you don't know her well enough yet.

I have had a few friends propose to their loved ones and some have received a "no," but they weren't dating that long and didn't know each other too well. I can't imagine how that would make the guy feel...

Hi! I just had a costumer returning these ring, because his girlfriend told him no, and he was sure that she will say yes. The answer is most of the time that they need more time. But the real question is how long do they need this guy was dating her for over two years.
