I was told that the diamond business is structured like a pyramid. The closer you get to the top of the pyramid (the distribution source) the cheaper the price since there are less middle mrn. I was told that NJ dealers sell to NY dealers at the diamond district so I should buy from a NJ dealer. Is this true? Are NJ dealers cheaper than NY dealers, especially NY dealers at the diamond district?
Help, I don't know much about diamonds and don't know who to trust for the best deal since our budget is not too high ($3,000-$4000) which I'm hoping can get me a quality diamond in platinum setting.
