Would someone please estimate about how much I can expect to pay to have a well-cut, 1.37 carat, pear-shaped diamond re-polished? It's current GIA polish rating is "good". I'd like to have it re-polished to GIA "very good" or "excellent" standards. I realize that this would result in the loss of a little of the diamond's weight (an indirect cost), but I'm only interested in knowing the direct labor cost. I'd also appreciate suggestions on how to track down MULTIPLE people/companies with the skill and equipment to actually do this.
Thank you in advance for your input!
Sincerely,
Tom

Hi Tom,
If it's just excellent polish you want, our cutter should be able to do quite a nice job for you. The approximate price would be $200 per carat plus any freight and insurance charges. You would also have to pick up the cost of a new GIA certificate.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
